Day 2 (Monday, April 14th)
DAY 2: CLEANSING THE TEMPLE
Mark 11:15-17
New International Version
Chapter 11
15 On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, 16 and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. 17 And as he taught them, he said, “Is it not written: ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations’[a]? But you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’

Devotional:
After His triumphal entry, Jesus went to the temple and found it filled with commerce rather than prayer. With righteous anger, He cleansed the temple, overturning tables and driving out those who had turned worship into business. This powerful act reminds us that Jesus cares deeply about pure worship and right relationship with God. For abundant life to flow, there must first be cleansing—a removal of whatever hinders our connection with God.
Application:
Your body is now the temple of the Holy Spirit. Take time today to invite Jesus to "cleanse your temple." What tables need to be overturned in your life? What distractions, unhealthy habits, or misplaced priorities have crowded out prayer and communion with God? Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas where your worship has become routine or self-serving rather than God-honoring. Then, with courage, allow Him to cleanse these areas, knowing that His correction comes from love and His desire for you to experience the fullness of relationship with Him.
Declaration/Confession:
I am the temple of the Holy Spirit, designed for prayer and communion with God. Today, I invite Jesus to cleanse anything within me that hinders true worship. I surrender my heart to His loving correction, knowing that cleansing precedes blessing. I declare that my life will be a house of prayer, not a den of distraction or self-interest. Where compromise has crept in, I welcome transformation. Where devotion has grown cold, I invite revival. I choose to make space for God's presence above all else, knowing this is the pathway to abundant life.
