DAY 3: TEACHING WITH AUTHORITY
Matthew 22:34-39
New International Version
Chapter 22
The Greatest Commandment
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Devotional:
During Holy Week, Jesus spent time teaching in the temple courts with divine authority. When challenged by religious leaders, He responded with wisdom that silenced His critics. When asked about the greatest commandment, He distilled all of God's law into two powerful directives: love God completely and love others sacrificially. His teaching reveals that abundant life isn't found in religious formality or knowledge alone, but in loving relationship—first with God, then flowing outward to others.
Application:
Consider how Jesus' teaching on love challenges and transforms your daily life. How fully are you loving God with your heart (emotions), soul (will), and mind (thoughts)? In what ways might your love for others fall short of how you care for yourself? Take practical steps today to express wholehearted love toward God through dedicated time in His presence and toward others through intentional acts of kindness. Remember that love isn't just an emotion but a decision that manifests in action.
Declaration/Confession:
Today, I embrace Jesus' teaching as the foundation for abundant living. I declare that loving God completely and loving others sacrificially will guide my decisions and actions. I choose to love God with my whole heart by prioritizing relationship with Him above all else. I commit to loving Him with my mind by renewing my thoughts with His truth. I will love Him with my soul by surrendering my will to His purposes. And from this foundation, I will extend compassionate love to others, seeing them as God sees them. I receive Jesus' authoritative teaching not as a burden but as the pathway to freedom and fullness of life.

Praise God. We thank our Heavenly Father for His Word that teaches us. The Greatest Commandment spoken by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is to Love the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our mind. When we do this, we fulfill His law… He is the way, the truth and life… No one comes to the Father but through Him. Because of His anointing, every yoke is broken. Because Jesus renew us, we can Love our neighbor as ourselves. Because He is the living water in us, we can overcome the things of this world… Only what we do for Christ will last. Thank you Deaconess Shunette for the Awesome ?? Power of Prayer and Praise and the message brought forth so Gracefully on Teaching with Authority. God’s Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our pathway… God has never left us alone because He has given us the blueprint and a way to escape. Jesus has given us the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us to pray His perfect will… We will walk in God’s love so that the world can see Him and He be lifted up. ????????????❤️
